This program can be used to back up your not
protected DVD's . The guide is provided to help those who make their own home
movies, and want to make a copy for a friend.
Start the program and select Clone DVD

Next click the top right icon and browse to your
home movie DVD

You should now see the structure of the DVD, click
any of the Titles and click the preview TAB to view them

From here you can remove items you don't want. If
the original author has made a DVD with a mixture of weddings, birthdays, but
you are making up a collection of weddings, you can remove items from this list
you don't want.
Most if not all home made DVD's will use the 4.5Gb
disks, I have seen very few commercially made home movie DVD's, however if you
look at the bottom right at the Quality -------->
this will tell you that the contents (With any menu) will fit on a blank DVD -/+
r disk.
If the quality setting does not show 100%, then
the program will compress the video content to fit, however you may want to
avoid this by removing some of the items listed.
If there are many small home made movies on the
DVD, mixed with a much larger one, you might only want to duplicate the larger
one, and
remove any menu it may have. Note the playing time of each movie, this shows you
roughly what's on the DVD
When your happy with the Quality and settings
click the Next button
The next screen lets you select the audio
channels, click next when you have selected which ones to keep.
On the next screen you can select 3 different
options

-
DVD Files This will copy your selection to your hard drive
-
ISO/UDF image This will make an image, which could then be burned with Nero etc
-
DVD Writer Make a copy direct to your DVD writer
Most of the settings are easy to understand, so
have not been included in this guide.
There is one thing you should know, if you
preserve the menu, but remove an item from the list, that item will be replaced
with a blank sequence of equal length, this is done to maintain the DVD
structure.
On playback you might see several seconds of blank
before the menu or movie plays. If you copy the contents to your hard drive,
Then use "IFO Edit" to remove those sequences, Even if IFO edit is a little
complicated for most. people
